90th Annual Meeting of the National Academy of Kinesiology

 

Current Status of Annual Meeting:  Due to COVID-19, the 2020 Annual Meeting has been postponed to 2021 (see details below on dates/location).

 

Program Commitee: Bradley Cardinal, Past-President of NAK is the program chair and his program planning committee consists of: Ketra Armstrong (University of Michigan), Dana Brooks (West Virginia University), George Cunningham (Texas A & M University), Louis Harrison, Jr. (University of Texas-Austin), Vikki Krane (Bowling Green State University), Deborah Riebe (University of Rhode Island), Mary Rudisill (Auburn University), Ron Zernicke (University of Michigan), and Susan Zieff (San Francisco State University).

A block of rooms has been reserved for the National Academy of Kinesiology at a rate of $179 for single/double occupancy. This room rate is only guaranteed until 9/1/2021 or until the room block is full. The hotel offers free guestroom Wi-Fi, complimentary fitness room, and three outdoor pools. The resort fee has been waived for our group.

 

Airport:  Plan to fly into John Wayne-Orange County Airport which is 15 miles from the hotel.  Uber/Lyft is the most convenient mode of transportation and cost will vary from $10 to $25 one way.  (Other nearby airports are Los Angeles International, Orange County/Long Beach Airport, or Ontario Airport.)

Parking:  Self parking (garage) is $17 per day.

Things to See and Do:  For a list of things to see and do in and around Newport Beach, check out the Visit Newport Beach website. Newport Beach has the largest recreational harbor on the west coast.  You can choose aquatic adventures (sunset cruises, stand-up paddle boarding, art walks, wine tasting tours, live entertainment, and scenic adventures as well (seaside cliffs, harbor front promenades).
